We offer the team concept of bringing the designer, estimating and construction services together for a total turn-key project for the owner. Snodgrass & Sons Construction Co. will also work together with the Owner’s architect in a “partnering” concept to bring a project together within budget and delivered on time.
Just like all successful businesses start with a plan, so does construction. Successful projects start by answering a series of important questions related to the project and creating a plan around the answers. Snodgrass & Sons has the experience and expertise to help form this plan and make your project a reality.
WHY DESIGN IS NECESSARY – Most commercial and industrial construction is regulated by Building Code. Building Code is a legal requirement for construction that insures a project is built safely and to standards that will last. Building Code is enforced by most cities / jurisdictions and construction is inspected by City Inspectors at various milestones for compliance with Building Code. While Snodgrass & Sons is knowledgeable and versed in Building Code, Architects and Engineers establish a holistic design that insures the project is built properly and that all the project systems (Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC etc.) will work together. In order for the City to “Permit” work to happen, the City requires a design to review first.
WHAT’S NEXT? Snodgrass & Sons has relationships with multiple Architects and Engineers who can assist with designing your project and bringing the project one step closer to reality. An initial meeting between you the Owner and our Design Team to learn more about you, what you do, why this project is important and more specifics about the project is the next step. Once our Design Team has a basic understanding of your project, they will advise as to the cost of their design services. If their design proposal is agreeable, Snodgrass & Sons can begin drafting a design-build contract between the Owner and Snodgrass & Sons as the Design-Build Contractor. Preliminary designs can begin and both the Owner and Snodgrass will be highly involved in making sure the design incorporates all aspects desired by the Owner and advising to construction costs of the project along the way.
